Chiemgau is home to one of Bavaria's most beautiful cross-country skiing areas, offering as many as 54 varied trails spanning more than 700 kilometres. Whether using the classic technique or skating, cross-country skiing is a major part of winter in Chiemgau. The region offers well-prepared trails for beginners and advanced cross-country skiers in the midst of picturesque natural scenery. Inzell is the perfect starting point for a number of tours, such as the Chiemgau marathon trail and the shorter Dorfloipe trail. Some of the most popular cross-country skiing routes run directly past our hotel. In winter, we set up a mulled wine stand for our guests on the nearby Dorfloipe and trails.
First cross-country skiing school
Germany’s first cross-country skiing school was founded in Ruhpolding more than 50 years ago. Chiemgau was also home to the first cross-country ski tracks.
Fritz Fischer biathlon camp
Cross-country skiing legend Fritz Fischer regularly holds cross-country skiing and shooting courses at the Chiemgau Arena in Ruhpolding – a real highlight for fans of the sport.
